How to Use the Scientific Calculator

Use RAD (radians) for calculus, physics, and programming — where angles are expressed as multiples of π (a right angle is π/2 ≈ 1.5708 rad). The current mode is shown in the top-left of the display.
Why does sin(90) give 1 in degrees but not 1 in radians?
In degrees, sin(90°) = 1. In radians, sin(90) means sin(90 radians), which is approximately sin(90 mod 2π) ≈ sin(2.124) ≈ 0.87 — a very different angle. If you switch to RAD mode and want sin of a right angle, enter sin(π/2) or approximately sin(1.5708).
How do I calculate log base-2 or log base-n?
Use the change-of-base formula: log_n(x) = log(x) ÷ log(n), where log is base-10. For example, log₂(1024) = log(1024) ÷ log(2) = 3.0103 ÷ 0.3010 = 10. Enter this as: log(1024) ÷ log(2) using the calculator.
