Scholarship Value and Duration

The award is renewable for up to three additional years of undergraduate study or until degree completion, whichever comes first. Renewal is subject to maintaining satisfactory academic standing, demonstrating continued financial need, and holding a valid Canadian study permit.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the International Scholars Program, applicants must:
- Be international students studying in Canada on a Canadian study permit
- Enter UBC from a recognized secondary school or transfer from the first year of another post-secondary institution
- Have graduated from high school no earlier than June 2023 (for 2025 entry)
- Apply for their first undergraduate degree
- Demonstrate superior academic achievement (all As or equivalent)
- Show a level of financial need that would otherwise prevent pursuing a UBC degree
- Meet UBC’s admission requirements, including English Language Admission Standard
For the Vantage One Excellence Award:
- All previous criteria apply, except applicants must not yet meet UBC’s English Language Admission Standard
- Meet UBC Vantage College admission requirements
- Come directly from high school
- Begin undergraduate studies in the UBC Vantage One Program
